Criticare® PneumoPatch™ Non-Vented

Penetrating chest trauma, with a sucking chest wound, is not only a common injury seen in the combat healthcare setting, but also a common occurrence in civilian Emergency Care. The most important first line of care for penetrating chest trauma, is to ensure that the wound is completely sealed off from the outside environment. The easiest way to achieve this is by sealing the chest wound with a purpose-designed gel-based occlusive chest wound dressing. They can be applied quickly in the combat setting and gel-based adhesives tend to form a much better seal and bond with the external chest wall.

Be Safe Paramedical South Africa are excited to introduce you to the latest addition to our Chest Wound Seal Range, the PneumoPatch™ NV. The PneumoPatch™ NV is a non-vented occlusive chest wound dressing that can be quickly applied to all penetrating chest wounds, even by inexperienced providers. The gel-based adhesive provides excellent chest wall adhesion and performs extremely well, even on clammy chests. The PneumoPatch™ NV’s gel adhesive will also increase its chest wall adhesion efficacy, the longer it remains on the chest. This is especially useful when transit times to a field hospital are delayed due to combat activity.
